Thus far, cutting through the fog, I see the following:
Sunday: The White House released a document titled:
U.S. Announces China Trade Deal in Geneva
CHINA'S VICE PREMIER HE LIFENG:
BOTH SIDES AGREED TO ESTABLISH CHINA-U.S. TRADE CONSULTATION MECHANISM
I see no "Trade Deal" Signed by President Xi.
Which is exactly how this went in the first administration.
A Trade Consultation Mechanism?
** When talks end and you have no deal:
** (Translated to, Will you agree to talk to us more, at least?)
A 90 day reprieve on some Tariffs. All Tariffs Not to 10%.
Prior Shipments Cancelled are still an interruption to supply chain,
That alone will take time to iron out.
This may be an attempt at pull forward number 2...
Based on consumption data, it feels like we could see diminishing results from any attempted pull forward.
Diverting attention away from the bad data to a not-yet-a-deal…is simply a diversion.
For those who can tune out noise and tune in reality…This Matters.
This has Boxing Promoter optics from the old days of Atlantic City & Vegas.
Any connection there?
