Hormuz Update (Plus Additional Bonus Data)

Ships Passing Numbers, A View into The Global Supply Line, Goods Disruption

From The Distilled Perspective of Patrick T Bulger, Capital Management & Analytics

• Hormuz:

The number of ship passings in the Strait of Hormuz are in the 10 to 20 range.
The Normal number was formerly in the 100 range daily.
7 reported passings on Sunday, 8/09
10 reported passings on Monday, 8/10

• Now recall the following factors:

1)    Disruption in The Strait of al Bab-Mandeb & Red Sea
That makes Two Friction points on an already stressed global supply chain.

2)    The damaged energy infrastructure.
3)    Add Russia's damaged energy infrastructure.

4)    Egypt, Saudi Arabia & Yemen have now become involved.

5)    The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) has been depleted to levels not seen since the early 80s.

6)    Also add: It's more than just energy.

7)    Bonus, this list does not include the Jobs Negative, Japan/Treasury Sec. Bessent Intervention, South Korea Volatility Event, Import and Export numbers, margin, a large fund experiencing risk implosion that required a rescue or other key topics.  (That can be your search list)

• Why does it matter?

If global supply lines are disrupted it can cause degrees of disruption outside of surface appearance.
Example: Energy, Fuel & Fertilizer issues can cause Global Farming, Food Supply & Transport issues and potential investment risk to your plan, which is your future quality of life.  Data & Risk Matter.

• What’s the bottom line?

This doesn't seem like "Open" or close to solved.

I see a steady, non-negotiation from the Iran side.
I consider the Strait of Hormuz, not open.
I do not see a path to a “Deal”, regardless of the “Near the Finish line” narratives.
